3 Ingredients to Make Biscuits Without Butter

Biscuits Without Butter

Here is the list of 3 ingredients needed to make butter-free biscuits.

Self Rising Flour:

Self-rising flour is one of the main ingredients to make biscuits without butter. It contains baking powder and salt, eliminating the need for additional leavening agents. This ensures that your biscuits will rise perfectly and have a light, fluffy texture.

Oil:

It substitutes for the fat and moisture that butter would provide in traditional biscuit recipes. It is important to use a neutral-flavored oil like canola or vegetable oil. This will ensure that the flavor of the biscuits is not compromised.

Sugar:

Sugar helps to create a light and tender texture. Sugar provides moisture, enhances flavor, and contributes to browning and caramelization during baking when mixed with other ingredients. In this recipe, I prefer powdered Sugar.

Some of My Tips to Make Your Biscuits Perfect

Tips for 3 Ingredient Biscuits Without Butter

Making perfect biscuits can be a delightful and rewarding experience. Here are some tips to ensure your biscuits turn out light, fluffy, and delicious every time.

Don’t Overheat Your Oven:

Biscuits require a delicate heat balance to achieve that golden brown exterior and fluffy interior. Overheated ovens can make biscuits that bake too quickly on the outside while remaining undercooked on the inside. It can cause a crumbly, dry texture.

Don’t Overmix the Dough:

Overmixing can lead to tough and dense biscuits, so handling the dough with care is important. When combining the ingredients, mix just until the dough comes together and no further. This will ensure the biscuits turn out light, fluffy, and tender.

Don’t Overbake:

Overbaking can make dry and crumbly biscuits without the desired texture and flavor. To ensure that your biscuits come out perfectly tender and moist, keep a close eye on them in the oven and remove them as soon as they turn golden brown.

Make Sure Your Dough is Not Too Thick After Shaping:

Ensure the dough is rolled out to the right thickness. Biscuits that are too thick might not bake evenly and be doughy. In contrast, thin biscuits can become crumbly and dry. Use a rolling pin and lightly dust your kitchen surface with flour to achieve the perfect thickness. Ensure the dough is rolled out to a consistent thickness, about 1/2 inch.
